MODELING LEARNER-TO-LEARNER INTERACTION PROCESS IN COLLABORATIVE LEARNING An Ontological Approach to Interaction Analysis
In this poster, we introduce an example of interaction patterns which are models of desired interaction process inspired with learning theories and vocabulary to represent the models. To evaluate collaborative learning session itself and/or educational benefits for learners, we should analyze interaction process, and capture what actually happens in the session. However, the interaction process...
متن کاملAn Empirical Analysis of Learner Discourse
We report the results of an empirical analysis of learner discourse wherein we analyze the utility of domain keywords in determining the topics of conversation. The results provide a foundation for agent-based feedback to learners in a collaborative learning environment. We also track user actions on a graphical user interface to determine learners’ progress and the quality of their designs.

متن کاملEfl learner collaborative interaction in second life
This paper reports on the task-based interaction of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners in the 3D multiuser virtual environment (MUVE) Second Life. The discussion first explores research on the precursors of MUVEs, text-based 2D virtual worlds known as MOOs. This is followed by an examination of studies on the use of MUVEs in Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). The discussion t...
متن کاملPatterns of Learner-learner Interaction in Distance Learning Networks
This study examines the different patterns of online interaction between asynchronous communication and synchronous communication networks. Discussion transcripts were analyzed and coded using Bale’s Interaction Process Analysis (IPA) model (revised and expanded version). The preliminary findings showed significant differences in the interaction between social-emotional and task-oriented conten...
